Burlington Mayor Ronnie Wall to seek re-election

Burlington Mayor Ronnie K. Wall has announced his intention to run for a fourth two-year term, according to the Burlington Times-News.

In announcing his decision, the 56-year-old Wall pointed to economic development issues as a cornerstone of his tenure in office, the Times News reported. That included organizing two summits ? one each in 2011 and 2012 ? that brought together government officials with members of the community and business leaders to discuss crucial economic issues facing Burlington and Alamance County.

The election filing period begins Friday.
