Sport and Recreation Day

On Friday September 14, the students of ISS gathered at Yokohama Country and Athletic Club for their annual sport and recreation day. The students were separated into 4 teams that went head to head across eight events from tunnel ball, relay races, to dodge ball and even tug of war. The different events required varying levels of speed, strength, coordination and agility. True team spirit was on display with all teams vocally supporting their comrades. At the end of the eight events team Gladiators were victorious and were looking forward to what their prize the next day at school would be. ?After the team events, students played the more traditional sports and ISS favourites; volleyball, futsal and basketball, battling both the intense heat and their growing hunger to play some enjoyable and competitive matches against one and some of the teachers as well. When lunch finally arrived it was devoured in true teenage fashion. The afternoon session was more relaxed and the students took turns doing some impressive dives, jumps and even flips from the 3-meter diving board. When they weren?t sailing through the air, the students both new and old were swimming, laughing and bonding together. It was another successful sport and recreation day to start off what is sure to be a great year at ISS!
